Andy's passion for filmmaking began when his parents bought him a digital 8 tape camcorder to film himself and friends skateboarding when they were teenagers. From then on he left a lukewarm desire for a career in sports behind and was adamant he wanted to be a filmmaker. 

He worked as a 1st AC on narrative/drama in between studying at university where he graduated with a 1st class hons and the prize for best practical dissertation in Media studies. After university he immediately got a position as cameraman and editor for a production company in London where he worked on commercials and corporate videos for companies such as Jaguar Landrover, Nikon, WRC rally, Hyundai and more. The variety of work led Andy to become a multi disciplined lighting camera operator. 

Eventually he grew tired of London life and yearned to be back in the mountains of his home in Wales. He started working as a cameraman and editor for a TV production company in Wales and worked on a variety of documentaries. 

He is now a freelance DOP and is working across several documentary productions worldwide as well as Drama.
